Watercolours and Works on Paper are vulnerable to dirt and grime, exposure to acid and foxing. It is important to keep Works on Paper in specific conditions to avoid the growth of molds and insect infestation.
It is possible to clean foxing and return the paper from its yellowed acidic state as well as neutralising the acid in the paper.
Works on paper have often been framed using poor quality techniques of the past and it is important to remove old backings that will continualy devalue and destroy the Work of Art. These are often the main cause of Acidic conditions. Water damage can also be of great concern, creating watermarks, mold, discolouring and structural damage to Works on Paper.
